The most important entries are <strong>inhibitors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An inhibitor means Leapp has found a condition that prevents the upgrade from continuing safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Search the report for inhibitors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>grep -i inhibitor \/var\/log\/leapp\/leapp-report.txt<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also inspect the complete report:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo less \/var\/log\/leapp\/leapp-report.txt<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Read the recommended remediation for every inhibitor and correct the problem it identifies.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"check-the-leapp-answer-file\">Check the Leapp Answer File<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Some systems require explicit answers before the upgrade can continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check whether Leapp created:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>\/var\/log\/leapp\/answerfile<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>View it with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo cat \/var\/log\/leapp\/answerfile<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>If the report tells you to provide an answer, use the exact section and field shown by Leapp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The general format is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo leapp answer --section &lt;section&gt;.&lt;field&gt;=True<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not copy an answer intended for another server or another AlmaLinux version. Use the values requested by your own Leapp report.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"run-the-check-again\">Run the Check Again<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>After resolving the reported issues, run:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo leapp preupgrade<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Review the report again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Repeat this process until no upgrade-blocking inhibitors remain.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"start-the-almalinux-10-upgrade\">Start the AlmaLinux 10 Upgrade<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Once the pre-upgrade check is clean enough to continue, start the upgrade:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo leapp upgrade<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Leapp will download the required AlmaLinux 10 packages and prepare a special upgrade environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This process can take some time depending on the number of installed packages and the network speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once it completes successfully, reboot:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>sudo reboot<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reboot-and-complete-the-upgrade\">Reboot and Complete the Upgrade<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>During the next boot, ELevate creates a GRUB entry called:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>ELevate-Upgrade-Initramfs<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>The system normally boots into this entry automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The actual package replacement and operating system migration take place during this boot process.
